It started over a decade ago when I was trying to find the right products for my TrueBlue best friend--- my yellow Lab Sam. There were a few pet products out in the market with natural ingredients, but they often didn’t work as well as conventional products. So I set out to create products that both used natural ingredients and were just as effective, or better, than conventional products.
I knew we wanted to use natural ingredients, but I also wanted expert advice in selecting the right ones. So we worked with Vets at Washington State University to find the best botanical ingredients that were both safe and effective for pets.
The Vet experts helped us select ingredients for our first shampoos, but this also started a larger conversation about the benefits of Wellness and preventative health maintenance. We talked about how pet parents could guard against some of the most common ailments of the skin, teeth, and ears if they had the right products.

Our shampoos have always been bio-degradable. You can rinse them down the sink or bathtub and be confident they are safe for the planet.
Our bottles have always been made with recyclable plastic, meaning they could be turned into something else. But at first they were made from “virgin” plastic. In other words, plastic that was newly created to make the bottles.
But now we have switched all our bottles to PCR plastic. PCR stands for “post-consumer resin” which is a fancy way of saying plastic that’s made from recycled plastic. So we’re not putting any new plastic into the world.
